Other Asias works as an open family of collectives of artists, writers and designers. We have worked with emergent, mid-career and established arts practitioners.
We function as a development platform for young artists and a distributive vechile for established artists where the outreach of large public institutions remain limited. We work across the full range of contemporary mediums, pushing into the areas of theatre, contemporary dance, music, journalism and fiction. We are interested in translating creative practitioners from non-art related discipline (e.g. blogging, geography, physics, economics) into contemporary arts practice. Previous collaborations have included commissions in the fields of contemporary art, animation, short film, songwriting, graphic design, plays and performance. We are open to contributions from new artists, writers and curators and seek to in the field of the arts, film, and art history. Anyone with commitment, energy and dynamic ideas - feel free to get in touch.
